Why Do These Sisters Keep Falling at Miss Universe?
Seriously, these sisters are taking dives at the Miss Universe pageant like its going out of style.
I’m not trying to judge them, nor am I trying to make fun of them. But for two black women to be representing the United States in a global beauty competition to fall on their behinds in the evening gown portion is just unacceptable.
Let me break it down for you. Black women have a mean walk. From the clubs to church, sisters can work it well in heels and any kind of dress. Grace isn’t even the appropriate word to describe the walk, it’s more like raw power bottled up in smooth.
So for Rachel Smith last year, and Crystal Stewart this year to have the smooth wind up on the floor of the stage, it’s not a good look.
But although their feet may come out from under them, we know their heads stay up. And they’ll have more opportunities to rise to new professional heights all from hitting the deck.
So go ‘head and fall that fall, girl.
