What Would Jesus Do? If You Have to Ask….
…then you probably shouldn’t be doing it. I remember when the WWJD bracelets first cam out and were super hot. It was like a hip way to show spirituality and a sense of morality. But then it became so hip that people were wearing them to the clubs. Folks were cursing people out at the Wal-Mart with and pulling the bracelets back getting ready for the drama.
But even if you don’t fit into one of these ghetto-fabulous categories, unless you are in your house in front of a Bible, chances are you are doing something Jesus would not do.
And that’s not always your fault. It’s just an indictment of how the world is today. Too many distractions and plenty of time for them. If you really asked yourself what would Jesus do, the answer you would logically come up with is saving someone’s soul, helping the needy in great numbers, condemning evil, that kind of stuff.
And while we often find time to perform variations of these miracles every now and again, Jesus was about that work 24-7. Could you really see yourself abandoning your family, all of your possessions, all of your education and desires, all for the advancement of the kingdom of God?
If you can’t, then you realize that there ain’t no way you could do what Jesus does. If you could, then most of the world would be trying to find you. And some wristbands.
